Little Buttons and Bows

This piece is inspired by the popular song published way back in 1947! Tiny applique hearts cut from a variety of vintage and recycled cottons are carefully hand-stitched into place with the addition of some genuine mother-of-pearl buttons taken from my collection of vintage buttons. I then hand tied two little bows from silk ribbons for the bows; the piece is constructed on a running-stitch background.

This miniature textile would make a lovely gift for romantic occasions, to welcome a new baby, or a coming of age - pretty and feminine the work is framed within a double depth mount onto which is written the title as well as the artist's signature. The frame is lightly distressed whitened wood measuring 7"/18cms square and my studio stamp is on the back; it comes with glass and hanging cord in place, all ready to hang.
